A prayerful Catholic home......Do you have a Holy Water font in your home?

Prayer is essential to families.
Having holy water available to family members teaches all of us we are a family of God. We are never alone.
Holy water fonts remind us of our Baptismal promise.
Placing a holy water font by the entrance and exit of your home provides you a way to renew this promise each day.
Giving your self the Sign of the Cross with holy water as you leave your home is a comforting prayer to start your day.
Using your right hand, you should touch your forehead at the mention of the Father; the lower middle of your chest at the mention of the Son; and the left shoulder on the word "Holy" and the right shoulder on the word "Spirit."

The Sign of the Cross

"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."

Baptismal Promise
 Do you reject Satan?
I do.
And all his works?
I do.
And all his empty promises?
I do.
Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth?
I do.
Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary was crucified, died, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father?
I do.
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?
I do.
God, the all-powerful Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and forgiven all our sins. May he also keep us faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ for ever and ever.
Amen.
Pass this tradition on to your family with a purchase of a holy water font. I have a wonderful selection of Vintage and Antique Holy Water fonts for sale at the links below.
